Rockstar has not published official GTA 6 PC system requirements. The first-party material checked on September 16, 2026 lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for launch, with no PC release date, PC store page, minimum specifications or recommended specifications.

That means every current “minimum” or “recommended” GTA 6 specification table is an estimate, even when it looks polished. We do not publish a guessed processor, graphics card, memory target or storage number as fact.

Our GTA 6 PC release page tracks Steam, Epic Games Store, Rockstar Games Launcher and release-date status separately. A console launch does not automatically produce verifiable PC requirements.

What counts as an official specification table

A real GTA 6 PC requirements announcement should be published or directly linked by Rockstar. It should identify the supported operating system and list exact minimum and recommended hardware. A useful table should also clarify storage, required software, launcher or account needs, and any feature-specific requirements.

The safest places to check will be:

• Rockstar’s official GTA VI website and Newswire.
• Rockstar Support or the Rockstar Games Launcher.
• A verified GTA VI product page on an official PC storefront, if one is announced.
• A Rockstar-linked support article containing the same values.

A copied table on a hardware blog is not first-party evidence, even when several other sites repeat it.

Why estimated spec tables are unreliable

Requirement estimates often compare GTA VI with another open-world game, a console’s hardware or an older Rockstar PC port. None of those methods knows the final PC build, optimization work, supported graphics settings or feature requirements.

Even a plausible component list can be wrong. Search-friendly tables are frequently copied between sites until an unsupported guess looks like consensus.

Console-equivalent comparisons are especially limited. A console uses fixed hardware, a fixed operating environment and game-specific optimization. A desktop graphics card with a similar headline performance number does not prove that a future PC build will support it.

Minimum versus recommended specs

When real requirements arrive, minimum should describe the lowest supported configuration under stated conditions. Recommended should target a better experience. Both labels are incomplete without expected resolution, frame rate and graphics preset.

You should also check:

• Required operating-system version.
• CPU and GPU model or performance class.
• System memory and graphics memory.
• SSD or other storage requirement.
• Required launcher and internet connection.
• Optional ray tracing, upscaling or other feature notes.

This is educational context, not a prediction of GTA VI’s future values.

Can your current PC run GTA 6?

There is no honest yes-or-no answer before a PC build and its requirements exist. Claims that a specific RTX, Radeon, Intel or AMD part is “confirmed” are not supported by the official sources checked.

You can still identify your current hardware so you are ready to compare later:

1. Open Windows system information or Settings > System > About to note the processor and installed memory.
2. Open Task Manager’s Performance tab or Device Manager to identify the graphics processor.
3. Check the exact laptop or desktop model if the component name is unclear.
4. Note available SSD capacity separately from total drive capacity.
5. Wait for Rockstar’s published table before deciding whether any part is below the minimum.

Rockstar Support explains the general process for comparing a PC with published game requirements. The comparison becomes meaningful only after the official GTA VI values exist.

How to recognise a real announcement

A dependable requirements page should be linked from Rockstar’s own GTA VI site, Rockstar Games Launcher or a verified store product page. It should name the publisher, supported operating system and exact minimum/recommended fields.

Be cautious if a page:

• Uses “expected,” “predicted” or “our estimate” while presenting a confident table.
• Has no first-party source link.
• Claims to scan your PC by making you download an unknown tool.
• Sells an upgrade as the only way to pass an unofficial test.
• Offers a GTA 6 PC beta or cracked benchmark.
• Gives a confident performance result without naming resolution, settings and frame rate.
• Treats console hardware as a confirmed PC requirement.

Should you upgrade your PC now?

Not for a particular GTA 6 target that Rockstar has not published. If your current computer already needs an upgrade for work or released games, make that decision on those verified needs. Otherwise, waiting prevents you from buying the wrong part too early.

Prices and product generations can also change before an official PC release. A speculative shopping list may age before it can be tested.

System-requirement checker websites

A checker is only as accurate as its requirement database. Before official specifications exist, it compares your hardware against somebody’s guess. Never install an unknown executable just to receive an answer that cannot yet be verified.

If a future official listing appears, you can compare hardware manually or use a reputable tool—but verify that the tool’s inputs match Rockstar’s published values.

Laptop and handheld questions

Laptop graphics parts can perform differently from desktop parts with similar names because power limits and cooling vary. A future desktop requirement table may not guarantee the same experience on every laptop.

Rockstar has not announced GTA VI support for Windows handhelds, Steam Deck or another PC-based handheld in the sources checked. Store labels, operating-system support and post-release testing will be needed before those questions have reliable answers.

Storage estimates are not PC requirements

The PC storage requirement is also unknown. Do not copy a rumoured console size into a PC requirements table. Download size, installed size and required free space can differ, and a future PC version may use different files.

Avoid fake PC builds and requirement tools

The absence of an official PC release creates an opening for fake downloads, beta invitations and “benchmark” files. Do not run an installer that claims to test GTA 6 performance, and do not disable security software to make one work.

What we will change when PC is announced

We will add the exact official table, source URL, publication date and explanatory notes when Rockstar releases them. Minimum and recommended values will remain separate, and any claimed performance level will need either a Rockstar statement or transparent post-release testing.

Until then, the accurate result is: no official GTA 6 system requirements exist, so no site can verify that a particular PC will run the game.
