GTA 6 is not on Steam right now. When checked on September 28, 2026, Rockstar’s official GTA VI pages listed PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the launch platforms. There was no official Steam page, Steam preorder, Steam wishlist button, Steam Deck rating, or PC download page for Grand Theft Auto VI.
That is the simple answer. If you searched “gta 6 steam” because you saw a Steam-looking page, a cheap key, a wishlist screenshot, or a “preorder now” post, slow down before clicking anything. A real GTA 6 Steam release would be announced by Rockstar and would appear through official store links, not through random screenshots, Discord messages, file-sharing pages, or key sellers.
This guide focuses only on the Steam question. For unsafe PC installers and fake files, read our GTA 6 PC download safety guide. For the broader PC launch answer, read our GTA 6 PC release guide.
Quick answer
| Steam question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Is GTA 6 on Steam? | No official Steam listing found |
| Is there a GTA 6 Steam page? | No official product page found |
| Can I wishlist GTA 6 on Steam? | Not officially |
| Can I preorder GTA 6 on Steam? | No official Steam preorder |
| Is there a GTA 6 Steam key? | Treat all current key offers as unsafe |
| Is GTA 6 Steam Deck verified? | No, because no PC/Steam version is announced |
| Could a Steam version happen later? | Possible, but not confirmed |
The important detail is the word official. A search result, social post, fake store page, edited screenshot, or fan-made news item is not confirmation.
What Rockstar officially lists right now
Rockstar’s GTA VI page and support information currently point to a console launch. Take-Two’s preorder announcement also says Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Rockstar’s preorder information lists console stores, the Rockstar Store and selected retailers. It does not list Steam as a preorder platform.
Here is the safe way to read the situation:
| Claim | Status |
|---|---|
| GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 | Official |
| GTA 6 launches on Xbox Series X|S | Official |
| GTA 6 console preorders are open | Official |
| GTA 6 has a Steam product page | Not official |
| GTA 6 has a Steam preorder | Not official |
| GTA 6 has a Steam key | Not official |
| GTA 6 has Steam Deck status | Not official |
| GTA 6 PC release date is confirmed | Not official |
This does not mean GTA 6 can never come to Steam. It means there is no official Steam listing today.
Why Steam search results can be confusing
Steam search can show many things when someone searches for Grand Theft Auto VI. You may see older Rockstar games, Grand Theft Auto V, Grand Theft Auto IV, GTA+ related pages, franchise pages, news items, community pages, or unrelated games with similar wording.
That can make the search feel more official than it really is.
A real Steam product page would be different. It would clearly be a GTA 6 store page, it would be tied to the correct publisher information, and it would match Rockstar’s own announcements. A Steam search result by itself is not enough.
If you are checking Steam manually, use this simple rule:
Do not treat anything as real unless Rockstar links to it or announces it through official channels.
What would count as a real GTA 6 Steam page?
A real Steam page would not be hard to verify. You would expect several things to line up at the same time:
| Signal | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Rockstar announces a PC or Steam version | This is the strongest signal |
| Rockstar’s GTA VI page links to the PC store page | Official link beats screenshots |
| Rockstar Support updates platform details | Support pages usually clarify editions and platforms |
| Steam has a proper GTA 6 product page | Search pages and community pages are not enough |
| Preorder or wishlist buttons appear on the real Steam domain | Only useful after official confirmation |
| Trusted outlets report the same official update | Helpful, but still secondary to Rockstar |
If only one weak signal exists, like a screenshot or a third-party key page, treat it as unsafe.
Can you preorder GTA 6 on Steam?
No. There is no official GTA 6 Steam preorder right now.
This is where many users get caught. A page can say “Steam preorder,” “early access key,” “global activation,” or “limited code” and still be fake. Until Rockstar announces a Steam version, there is no safe reason to buy a GTA 6 Steam key.
If you want the current official preorder details, use our GTA 6 preorder guide. That page focuses on the real console preorder status and what is currently listed by official sources.
Are GTA 6 Steam keys real?
Treat current GTA 6 Steam keys as unsafe.
There is no official Steam product page or Steam preorder right now, so a seller claiming to have a GTA 6 Steam key has a major problem: there is no official Steam version for that key to activate.
Be careful with:
- “GTA 6 Steam key global”
- “GTA 6 PC key”
- “GTA 6 beta key”
- “GTA 6 early access code”
- “GTA 6 cheap preorder Steam”
- “GTA 6 key generator”
- “GTA 6 activation code”
Even if a seller looks professional, the offer can still be fake, grey-market, refunded, stolen, or simply impossible to redeem.
What about Steam Deck?
There is no official GTA 6 Steam Deck status.
Steam Deck support can only be judged properly after a PC version exists. Right now, Rockstar has not announced a GTA 6 PC version, Steam version, system requirements, launcher details, graphics settings, or performance targets.
So if a video or page says “GTA 6 Steam Deck verified,” “GTA 6 runs 60 FPS on Steam Deck,” or “GTA 6 Steam Deck settings,” it is not based on official GTA 6 PC information.
For now, the honest answer is simple:
No PC version means no real Steam Deck answer yet.
What about GTA 6 Steam price in India, US or UK?
There is no official Steam price because there is no official Steam listing.
This matters because many searches mix Steam, PC and regional pricing together. For example, someone may search “gta 6 steam price India” or “gta 6 Steam preorder price,” but there is no official Steam price to compare yet.
The only current official pricing discussion should stay around the announced console editions and official store listings. If you need price details, use our GTA 6 price guide and our GTA 6 price in India for PC guide. The PC price guide explains why PC and Steam prices should not be guessed before Rockstar announces a PC version.
Could GTA 6 come to Steam later?
Yes, it could happen later, but that is not confirmed.
Rockstar has released past Grand Theft Auto games on PC, and some older Rockstar titles are available on Steam. That history is why many players expect a PC release later. But history is not the same as an announcement.
The safe wording is:
GTA 6 may come to PC or Steam later, but Rockstar has not announced it yet.
Avoid pages that turn “maybe later” into a specific date. If the date is not on Rockstar’s official pages, treat it as a guess.
How to check safely before trusting a Steam claim
Use this quick check before you click a GTA 6 Steam link:
- Open Rockstar’s GTA VI page directly.
- Check Rockstar Support for platform and preorder details.
- Search Steam directly, not through a shortened or sponsored link.
- Look for a real product page, not a news hub, community post or unrelated game.
- Check whether Rockstar links to that same page.
- Avoid any key seller that claims to have GTA 6 before an official PC announcement.
If those checks do not line up, do not buy, download or sign in.
Common Steam scams to avoid
Steam-related GTA 6 scams usually try to make the offer feel urgent. They may say the key is “limited,” “early,” “developer access,” “beta invite,” “preload ready,” or “cheaper before launch.”
Watch for these red flags:
| Red flag | Why it is risky |
|---|---|
| The seller has GTA 6 Steam keys before Rockstar confirms Steam | There is no official Steam version to activate |
| The page asks you to download an EXE first | Could be malware |
| The site asks for your Steam login | Could steal your account |
| The price is extremely low | Scammers use fake discounts to rush clicks |
| The page uses copied GTA artwork with no official link | Copied visuals are easy to fake |
| The “proof” is a screenshot | Screenshots can be edited |
If you already downloaded a file, go to the GTA 6 PC download safety guide and follow the cleanup steps.
What Steam players should do now
If you want GTA 6 on Steam, the best move is boring but safe:
- Do not buy keys yet.
- Do not install any GTA 6 PC file.
- Do not trust Steam wishlist screenshots.
- Do not connect your Steam account to unknown GTA 6 pages.
- Follow Rockstar, Rockstar Support and official store pages.
- Wait for a real PC or Steam announcement.
You can also bookmark our GTA 6 PC release status page. That page will be updated if Rockstar announces a PC version.
What is not confirmed yet
These things are not confirmed by official sources right now:
- GTA 6 Steam release date
- GTA 6 Steam page
- GTA 6 Steam wishlist
- GTA 6 Steam preorder
- GTA 6 Steam price
- GTA 6 Steam Deck support
- GTA 6 PC system requirements
- GTA 6 PC download size
- GTA 6 PC launcher requirement
If any of these become official, the answer should be easy to verify through Rockstar first.
Bottom line
There is no official GTA 6 Steam page right now. There is no Steam preorder, no Steam wishlist, no Steam key, no Steam Deck rating, and no confirmed PC release date.
If you only remember one thing, remember this:
Wait for Rockstar to announce the PC or Steam version before buying, wishlisting, downloading, or entering your Steam login anywhere.
Until then, any GTA 6 Steam key or Steam download claim should be treated as unsafe.

No. Steam search results can show other Rockstar games, older Grand Theft Auto pages, news hubs or unrelated games, but that is not the same as a real GTA 6 product page.
Can I preorder GTA 6 on Steam?
No official Steam preorder is available right now. Rockstar's current preorder information points to console stores, the Rockstar Store and selected retailers, not Steam.
